Glimiscore Mv2 Tablet contains Glimepiride 2 mg + Metformin hydrochloride (modified/extended release) 500 mg + Voglibose 0.2 mg. It belongs to the Sulfonylurea + Biguanide + Alpha-glucosidase inhibitor class of medicines.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are not enough; helps control post-meal and fasting blood glucose in patients requiring triple therapy.

How Glimiscore Mv2 Tablet works

Glimepiride increases insulin release from the pancreas and improves insulin sensitivity. Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves peripheral glucose uptake. Voglibose slows carbohydrate digestion and absorption in the gut, reducing post-meal blood sugar spikes.

How to take Glimiscore Mv2 Tablet

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with/after a main meal (often breakfast) to reduce stomach upset and risk of low sugar; swallow whole (do not crush/chew if modified-release). Monitor blood glucose regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause severe and prolonged low blood sugar, which may lead to fits or unconsciousness. It can cause a dangerous build-up of acid in the blood, with vomiting, severe weakness and laboured breathing. It may cause low blood sugar and marked stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Glimiscore Mv2 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Risk of hypoglycaemia (higher with missed meals, alcohol, heavy exercise, elderly, kidney/liver disease); metformin may rarely cause lactic acidosis—seek urgent care for rapid breathing, severe weakness, abdominal pain, drowsiness. Avoid in severe renal impairment; use caution in liver disease, dehydration, severe infection, or before/after major surgery. Temporarily stop metformin around iodinated contrast procedures as advised by a doctor. Monitor kidney function, vitamin B12 with long-term use.

Do not take Glimiscore Mv2 if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with severe kidney or liver disease. Not for people with severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or an acute illness causing dehydration. Not for people who have had diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with heart failure, active bladder cancer or unexplained blood in the urine.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol (increases hypoglycaemia and lactic acidosis risk), insulin/other antidiabetics (additive hypoglycaemia), beta-blockers (mask hypoglycaemia), corticosteroids/thiazide diuretics (raise glucose), ACE inhibitors (may increase hypoglycaemia), quinolones (alter glucose), iodinated contrast media (renal risk with metformin), cimetidine (may increase metformin levels)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Take it shortly before a meal, and eat that meal. Check your sugar as often as your doctor has asked, especially when your routine changes. Take it with or just after food to reduce stomach upset. Keep taking it even when your sugar readings look normal — that is the medicine working. Continue your diet and physical activity; this medicine works alongside them, not instead of them. Take it with the first mouthful of your meal so it can act on that meal. Expect some wind in the first weeks; it usually settles.
