Healsure Ointment contains Metronidazole (1% w/w) + Sucralfate (7% w/w) + Povidone Iodine (5% w/w). It belongs to the Topical antiseptic/antimicrobial (exact actives unknown) class of medicines.

How Healsure Ointment works

An antiseptic/antimicrobial ointment helps reduce or prevent growth of germs at the wound site and supports faster healing by keeping the area protected. The ointment base also forms a barrier that keeps the wound moist and reduces irritation.

How to take Healsure Ointment

For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer 1–3 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Cover with a sterile dressing if needed. Wash hands before and after application.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Healsure Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe loose motions and nerve symptoms. It may cause bloating and loose motions. It is unlikely from skin use, but swallowing an antiseptic is dangerous and needs immediate medical attention. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Healsure are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Do not take Healsure if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Probiotics are used with caution in people whose immune system is significantly suppressed. Not for use on large burns or deep wounds without medical advice.

Interactions with other medicines

Other topical medicines on the same area (may increase irritation or reduce efficacy), topical corticosteroids (may mask infection)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Keep the cap tightly closed.

Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.
