Relief of dry cough and associated throat irritation (antitussive cough syrup).
Cough suppressants act on the cough centre in the brain to reduce the urge to cough and may also soothe throat irritation. Exact mechanism depends on the active ingredients in the formulation.
Shake well before use. Measure the dose with a cup/spoon and take as directed by a doctor. Can be taken with or without food; avoid exceeding the recommended dose. Not for young children unless prescribed.

May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery. Do not use for productive (phlegm) cough unless advised by a doctor. Use with caution in asthma/COPD, liver disease, glaucoma, enlarged prostate/urinary retention, and in elderly patients. If cough persists >3–5 days, is accompanied by fever, rash, breathing difficulty, or thick mucus, seek medical advice. Do not combine with other cough/cold products containing similar ingredients.
