Esomeprazole 40 mg (as enteric-coated tablet)
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis, healing and prevention of gastric/duodenal ulcers, ulcers associated with NSAID use, part of H. pylori eradication regimen (with antibiotics), Zollinger–Ellison syndrome/pathological hypersecretory conditions
Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly blocks the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells. This markedly reduces gastric acid secretion, relieving acidity and allowing ulcers/erosions to heal.
Take orally as directed by a doctor, usually once daily. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew (enteric-coated). Preferably take 30–60 minutes before food (often before breakfast). Duration depends on the condition.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Misapin 40MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Use with caution in liver disease. Long-term use may increase risk of low magnesium, vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fractures, and gastric infections (e.g., C. difficile). May mask symptoms of gastric cancer—seek medical advice for alarm symptoms (unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting, blood in stools). Stop and seek care if severe rash/allergic reaction occurs.
