A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Moxigram Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Moxigram Tablet contains Moxifloxacin (400mg).
Treatment of Bacterial infections
Moxigram Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Most side effects of Moxigram are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Moxigram. Some combinations can change how Moxigram works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Moxigram below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
You have been prescribed Moxigram Tablet for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after instilling the medication. Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. It may cause short-term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines. Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up. Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the medication.
