Warnings and precautions

For external use only, unless the pack says otherwise. See a doctor for a deep, dirty or heavily bleeding wound, an animal bite, or any wound showing signs of infection. Check that your tetanus cover is current after any dirty or penetrating wound. Stop if the skin becomes more irritated, and see a doctor if the condition worsens or spreads. Do a small test patch first if you have sensitive skin. For external use only. Keep away from the eyes and the inside of the mouth and nose unless the product is made for that purpose. Do not use a strong antiseptic repeatedly on an open wound — clean running water and soap around the edges are usually better, and harsh antiseptics slow healing. See a doctor for a deep or dirty wound, an animal bite, a wound that will not stop bleeding, or one that becomes red, swollen, warm or discharges.

Do not take Napigard if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for use on large burns or deep wounds without medical advice. Not for use on broken or infected skin unless prescribed.

Interactions with other medicines

No significant interactions are expected. No significant interactions are expected from preparations used on the skin.

How to store Napigard Powder

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Napigard Powder

Clean the wound first, then apply, and keep it covered and dry. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin. Wash your hands after use. Clean the wound under running water first, then apply. Cover a clean wound with a sterile dressing and change it if it becomes wet or dirty.
