Nosikind-P Nasal Spray contains Xylometazoline (0.5% w/v) + Sorbitol (2% w/v). It belongs to the Nasal decongestant / saline and Laxative class of medicines.

How Nosikind-P Nasal Spray works

Nosikind-P Nasal Spray is a combination of two medicines: Xylometazoline and Sorbitol. Xylometazoline is a nasal decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels, providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Sorbitol is a moisturizing ingredient which reduces the symptoms of dryness and irritation in the nose, providing a soothing effect.

How to take Nosikind-P Nasal Spray

Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Insert the bottle tip into one nostril and close the other nostril. Direct the spray towards the sides of your nostril, away from the cartilage dividing the two sides of your nose. As you spray, breath gently and keep the head upright. Repeat the same process for the other nostrils.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Nosikind-P Nasal Spray, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may cause a racing heart, restlessness and a rise in blood pressure if swallowed. It can cause severe loose motions, dehydration and salt imbalance. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Nosikind-P Nasal are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Do not use a medicated nasal decongestant for more than the few days stated on the pack. Longer use causes rebound congestion that is worse than the original block. Saline drops and sprays have no such limit and are safe for repeated use. Use your own bottle only — sharing spreads infection. Drink plenty of water while taking any laxative, particularly the fibre-based ones — without it they can make constipation worse. Do not use stimulant laxatives daily over long periods without medical advice; the bowel becomes reliant on them. See a doctor if constipation is new and persistent in an adult over forty, or comes with blood, weight loss or severe pain.

Do not take Nosikind-P Nasal if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Decongestant sprays are not suitable for very young children without medical advice. Not for anyone with a suspected bowel obstruction, or with severe abdominal pain of unknown cause.

Interactions with other medicines

Decongestants can raise blood pressure; tell your doctor if you are hypertensive. Laxatives can reduce the absorption of other medicines taken at the same time.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Keep out of the reach of children.

Nosikind-P Nasal Spray works right away and each dose provides relief for up to 12 hours. The right way to use the nasal spray: Shake the bottle before using the medicine. Clean your nose thoroughly before using the medicine. Insert the bottle tip into one nostril and close the other nostril. Direct the spray towards the sides of your nostril, away from the cartilage dividing the two sides of your nose. Breathe out gently through your mouth and repeat the same process for the other nostril. Avoid deep breathing as it will cause the medication to go back to the throat and make it less effective. Do not share the bottle with anyone else so that you do not spread germs.
