Enalapril maleate 5 mg (equivalent to Enalapril 5 mg)
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), management of heart failure, reduction of risk of heart-related events in left ventricular dysfunction/after myocardial infarction (as advised by doctor)
Enalapril is an ACE inhibitor. It blocks conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to relaxation of blood vessels and reduced aldosterone. This lowers blood pressure and reduces workload on the heart.
Capsule for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily (sometimes divided doses). Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Not recommended in pregnancy; stop and contact doctor if pregnancy occurs. Risk of angioedema (swelling of face/lips/tongue) and severe allergic reactions—seek urgent care. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium, especially in kidney disease, dehydration, elderly, heart failure, or when using diuretics. Use with caution in renal artery stenosis, severe kidney impairment, aortic stenosis, and history of angioedema. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected.
