How Olay 5 Tablet works

Olay 5 Tablet is an atypical antipsychotic. It works by affecting the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts and behavior.

How to take Olay 5 Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Olay 5 Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Olay 5 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Olay than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Olay 5 Tablet works well in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It is less likely to cause heart and movement problems as compared to other similar medicines. It may take 4 to 6 weeks to see full effects on thoughts and mood. Keep taking it as prescribed. Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Olay 5 Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness. It may increase your weight, blood sugar and cholesterol. Eat healthy, exercise regularly and monitor your blood levels regularly. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Do not stop taking Olay 5 Tablet without talking to your doctor first as it may cause worsening of symptoms.
