Piperacillin 4 g + Tazobactam 0.5 g (as sterile powder for injection)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as hospital- or community-acquired pneumonia, complicated urinary tract infections, complicated intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, gynecological infections, and septicemia; also used in febrile neutropenia as per clinician advice.
Piperacillin is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects piperacillin from enzymatic degradation, helping extend activity against beta-lactamase–producing organisms.
For intravenous use only. Reconstitute the vial with a compatible diluent and administer as IV injection/infusion as prescribed by a doctor; dose and duration depend on infection type, severity, kidney function and clinical response. May be given with or without food; complete the full course.
