How Savlon Handwash works

Chlorhexidine is a broad-spectrum antiseptic that disrupts bacterial cell membranes and reduces microbial load on skin. Cetrimide is a cationic surfactant/antiseptic that helps remove dirt/oil and damages microbial cell membranes.

How to take Savlon Handwash

For external use only. Wet hands, apply a small amount of handwash, lather for at least 20 seconds covering palms, back of hands, between fingers and nails, then rinse thoroughly with water. Use as needed, especially before eating and after using the toilet or coming from outside.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Savlon Handwash as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Savlon Handwash than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
