Sertapik 100 Tablet is used for treatment of major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Sertapik 100 Tablet contains Sertraline (100mg). It belongs to the Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of medicines.
Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It increases serotonin levels in the brain by inhibiting its reuptake at nerve endings, helping improve mood and reduce anxiety and obsessive symptoms.
Take orally exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not stop suddenly—dose should be tapered under medical supervision.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Sertapik 100mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Sertapik than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Sertapik are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Prescription-only antidepressant. Risk of suicidal thoughts/behavior especially in children, adolescents, and young adults—monitor closely. Do not use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping an MAOI; risk of serotonin syndrome. Use caution in bipolar disorder (may trigger mania), seizure disorder, liver impairment (dose adjustment may be needed), bleeding risk (especially with NSAIDs/anticoagulants), hyponatremia/SIADH (elderly, diuretics). May impair driving/operating machinery. Do not stop abruptly; withdrawal symptoms may occur.
MAO inhibitors (linezolid, methylene blue), other serotonergic drugs (triptans, tramadol, lithium, tryptophan, St John’s wort), anticoagulants/antiplatelets/NSAIDs (warfarin, aspirin, ibuprofen) increased bleeding risk, other SSRIs/SNRIs, CYP2D6 substrates (e.g., some antipsychotics, TCAs) – increased levels, alcohol and CNS depressants may worsen side effects
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how Sertapik 100mg Tablet affects you. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts. Inform your doctor if you experience decreased sex drive or difficulty having an orgasm. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor.
