Uses of Sitaglip M Tab

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve blood sugar control along with diet and exercise; used when metformin alone is insufficient or as combination therapy.

How it works

Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin hormones, leading to increased insulin release and decreased glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, helping cells use glucose better.

Directions for use

Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew if it is an extended-release formulation (verify pack). Regularly monitor blood glucose/HbA1c.
