A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Sitapride 25 mg Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Sitapride 25 mg Tablet contains Dapagliflozin (10mg) + Sitagliptin (100mg).
Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus
SITApride D 10mg/100mg Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medications. Dapagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion and reduces blood glucose levels. Sitagliptin reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver by raising insulin levels and decreasing the levels of glucagon (the hormone that increases blood glucose levels).
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. SITApride D 10mg/100mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of SITApride D 10mg/100mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Sitapride than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Sitapride are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Sitapride. Some combinations can change how Sitapride works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Sitapride below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
SITApride D 10mg/100mg Tablet is used alone or together with other diabetes medicines to control blood sugar and avoid long-term complications. It also reduces the risk of heart attack, heart failure, or other cardiovascular events. You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) along with SITApride D 10mg/100mg Tablet. It may cause your body to lose too much fluid (dehydration), or you may urinate more often. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. It can cause genital fungal and/or urinary tract infections (UTIs) in both females and males, so practice good hygiene. It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol, or if you delay or miss a meal. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool, pale skin, tremor, and anxiety. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience constant dizziness, joint pain, cold-like symptoms, or unexplained nausea/vomiting. Monitor your blood sugar regularly while taking this medicine.
