Bromhexine Hydrochloride IP 4 mg/5 ml
Relief of productive cough (wet cough) with thick mucus, chest congestion in acute and chronic bronchitis, tracheobronchitis and other respiratory tract conditions with viscid sputum.
Bromhexine is a mucolytic/expectorant that breaks down and thins thick bronchial mucus by depolymerizing mucopolysaccharide fibres. This makes sputum less sticky and easier to cough out, improving airway clearance.
Oral syrup. Shake well before use and measure with a cup/spoon. Typically taken 2–3 times daily as advised by doctor; may be taken with or without food. Drink adequate fluids to help loosen mucus. Do not exceed recommended dose; if symptoms persist beyond a few days, consult a clinician.
Common side effects of SOLVIN COUGH SYP may include:
Use with caution in patients with gastric ulcer disease, severe liver or kidney impairment, or asthma/bronchospasm history. Stop and seek medical help if rash, swelling, breathing difficulty, or severe skin reactions occur. Not meant for dry cough without mucus unless advised. For children, dose should be as per paediatrician. If cough lasts >7 days, is recurrent, or is accompanied by fever, wheezing, blood in sputum, or weight loss, seek medical advice.
