Composition of Styptochrome-E Injection

Styptochrome-E Injection contains Ethamsylate (125mg). It belongs to the Capillary hemostatic agent (carbazochrome derivative) class of medicines.

Uses of Styptochrome-E Injection

• Management of capillary bleeding/fragility; adjunct in minor hemorrhages such as epistaxis (nosebleed)
• gum bleeding
• post-operative oozing and other superficial capillary bleeds as prescribed.

How Styptochrome-E Injection works

Carbazochrome strengthens capillary walls and reduces capillary permeability and fragility. This helps decrease oozing from small blood vessels and supports hemostasis in superficial capillary bleeding.

How to take Styptochrome-E Injection

Injection for use only under medical supervision. Given by IV/IM/slow IV injection as advised by the doctor; dose and duration depend on indication and clinical response.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Styptochrome-E as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Styptochrome-E than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Styptochrome-E Injection

Most side effects of Styptochrome-E are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Injection site pain
• redness or swelling
• nausea
• vomiting
• dizziness
• headache
• flushing
• rash

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Use only on prescription and under medical supervision. Inform doctor if you have allergy to carbazochrome, asthma/allergic disorders, severe liver/kidney disease, or if bleeding is heavy/persistent (needs evaluation for underlying cause). Not a substitute for definitive management of major hemorrhage. Monitor for hypersensitivity reactions.

Interactions with other medicines

No well-established clinically significant interactions; inform doctor about use of anticoagulants/antiplatelets (e.g., warfarin, heparin, aspirin, clopidogrel), NSAIDs, and other hemostatic agents as overall bleeding risk/management may be affected.

How to store Styptochrome-E Injection

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light. Do not freeze. Keep ampoules in outer carton and out of reach of children.
