Tetanus Toxoid IP 5 Lf per 0.5 mL (adsorbed)
Prevention of tetanus (active immunization) in children and adults; routine immunization and booster doses; prophylaxis in wound management as per immunization status
Tetanus toxoid is an inactivated form of tetanus toxin that cannot cause disease. It stimulates the immune system to produce protective antibodies, providing active immunity against tetanus infection.
For intramuscular injection only (preferably deltoid in adults/older children, anterolateral thigh in infants). Shake well before use. Administer as per immunization schedule/doctor advice; booster doses are typically given at recommended intervals. Do not give intravenously.
Common side effects of T.T. AMP may include:
Do not use in case of severe allergy to any component or after a previous dose of tetanus toxoid. Postpone in acute severe febrile illness (minor infections are usually not a contraindication). Use with caution in patients with bleeding disorders or on anticoagulants (risk of injection-site bleeding). Keep emergency treatment available for rare anaphylaxis. This vaccine prevents tetanus but does not treat established tetanus infection.
