Composition of Tamlocept D Capsule

Tamlocept D Capsule contains Tamsulosin + Dutasteride. It belongs to the Prescription-only medicine and Hair growth stimulant / anti-dandruff agent class of medicines.

Uses of Tamlocept D Capsule

  • This medicine is used in the treatment of the condition your doctor has prescribed this for
  • hair loss
  • dandruff and scalp conditions.

Key benefits

  • Prescribed for your specific condition
  • Slows hair loss and can regrow hair
  • Controls dandruff and scalp flaking

How Tamlocept D Capsule works

This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Tamsulosin and Dutasteride. Tamsulosin acts on the condition your doctor has prescribed it for. Dutasteride acts on the scalp and hair follicles to slow hair loss and control flaking.

How to take Tamlocept D Capsule

Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it with or after food. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may be harmful — seek medical advice immediately. It can cause a fall in blood pressure and a racing heart when far too much is applied to the skin. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Tamlocept D Capsule

Most side effects of Tamlocept D are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Stomach upset
  • Scalp irritation
  • Itching
  • Dryness

Warnings and precautions

This is a prescription-only medicine. Take it exactly as your doctor has directed, for the period directed. Do not share it with anyone else, even if their symptoms seem the same. Tell your doctor about every other medicine, supplement and herbal product you take. Report any unexpected or severe symptom to your doctor rather than stopping on your own. Topical minoxidil causes a burst of shedding in the first two to eight weeks. This is the old hair making way for new — it is expected, not a failure. Results take three to six months, and stop when you stop. This is a continuing treatment, not a cure. Finasteride must not be handled or taken by anyone who is pregnant or could become pregnant — it causes birth defects. Do not let a pregnant person handle broken or crushed tablets. Apply topical treatments to a dry scalp, not to hair, and wash your hands afterwards. Tell your doctor about any chest pain, dizziness, rapid heartbeat or sudden weight gain with minoxidil.

Do not take Tamlocept D if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Your doctor will confirm this medicine is suitable for you. Not for use on inflamed, broken or sunburnt scalp.

Interactions with other medicines

Give your doctor and pharmacist a full list of everything you take. Avoid applying other scalp products at the same time of day unless advised.

How to store Tamlocept D Capsule

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Tamlocept D Capsule

Take it at the same time each day and complete the course. Keep your follow-up appointments and any monitoring blood tests. Be consistent — irregular use gives no result. Have persistent or patchy hair loss assessed; thyroid disease, iron deficiency and other causes are treatable.
