Take it on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning, with water, and wait at least half an hour to an hour before eating or drinking anything else. Food, tea and coffee substantially reduce how much is absorbed. Separate it by at least four hours from calcium, iron, antacids and multivitamins — these bind it and block absorption. This is usually lifelong treatment. Do not stop when your reports come back normal; the normal report is the medicine working. Report palpitations, tremor, marked weight loss or difficulty sleeping — these suggest the dose is too high. Do not take Thyrocab if
