Levothyroxine sodium 12.5 mcg (as tablets)
Treatment of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), thyroid hormone replacement therapy; may be used to suppress TSH in certain thyroid conditions as advised by a doctor
Levothyroxine is a synthetic form of thyroxine (T4), a natural thyroid hormone. It is converted to T3 in the body and helps regulate metabolism, energy, heart function and body temperature, restoring normal thyroid hormone levels.
Take exactly as prescribed. Usually taken once daily on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning 30–60 minutes before breakfast, with water. Take at the same time each day; avoid taking with calcium/iron/antacids within 4 hours. Do not stop or change dose without medical advice.

Use only under medical supervision and with periodic TSH/T4 monitoring. Overdose/over-replacement can cause symptoms of hyperthyroidism and may increase risk of arrhythmias, angina, heart failure, and bone loss (osteoporosis), especially in elderly and postmenopausal women. Use caution in patients with coronary artery disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, diabetes, and adrenal insufficiency (treat adrenal insufficiency first). Not for weight loss/obesity treatment. Separate from food and interacting medicines as advised.
