Sodium Valproate 300 mg (Controlled Release) tablet
Treatment of epilepsy/seizure disorders (including generalized and partial seizures); prevention of migraine (as prescribed); may also be used for bipolar disorder/mania under specialist care
Sodium valproate increases brain levels of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA and modulates neuronal ion channels, which stabilizes abnormal electrical activity in the brain. This helps prevent and control seizures and reduces neuronal hyperexcitability.
