How Vocid 10 mg Tablet works

Vortioxetine is a multimodal antidepressant that increases serotonin activity in the brain. It inhibits serotonin reuptake and modulates multiple serotonin (5‑HT) receptors, helping improve mood and associated symptoms of depression.

How to take Vocid 10 mg Tablet

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; take it at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of VOcid 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Vocid than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Vocid 10 mg Tablet

Most side effects of Vocid are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Nausea

• diarrhoea
• constipation
• vomiting
• dry mouth
• abnormal dreams
• increased sweating

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Prescription-only antidepressant. Risk of suicidal thoughts/behaviour may increase in young adults early in treatment or on dose changes—monitor closely. Do not use with MAO inhibitors; allow adequate washout (at least 14 days) to avoid serotonin syndrome. Use caution with history of bipolar disorder/mania, seizures, bleeding disorders, hyponatremia, glaucoma, or severe liver/kidney disease. Serotonin syndrome risk increases with other serotonergic drugs; seek urgent care for agitation, fever, tremor, diarrhoea, confusion. May cause dizziness—use caution while driving/operating machinery.

Interactions with other medicines

MAO inhibitors (contraindicated),linezolid,methylene blue,SSRIs/SNRIs,triptans,tramadol,lithium,tryptophan,St John’s wort (serotonin syndrome risk),NSAIDs/aspirin/anticoagulants/antiplatelets (bleeding risk),strong CYP2D6 inhibitors (e.g., bupropion, fluoxetine, paroxetine, quinidine) may increase levels,strong CYP inducers (e.g., rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin) may reduce effect

Before taking VOcid 10 Tablet, tell your doctor if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have liver/kidney problems. Inform your doctor if you have low magnesium, calcium, or potassium in your blood or you are taking a medicine to increase urine (diuretic).
