Xet CR 12.5 Tablet contains Clonazepam (0.25mg) + Paroxetine (12.5mg). It belongs to the SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) class of medicines.
Paroxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It increases serotonin levels in the brain by inhibiting its reuptake in nerve synapses, helping improve mood and reduce anxiety and panic symptoms.
Oral tablet (controlled-release). Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily, preferably in the morning; can be taken with or without food. Swallow whole—do not crush, break, or chew. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Xet CR as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Xet CR than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Xet CR are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Use with caution / Consult doctor (may be associated with fetal risks; do not use unless clearly needed) |
|---|---|

Prescription-only antidepressant. Risk of worsening depression or suicidal thoughts, especially in young adults—monitor closely. Do not stop abruptly (withdrawal symptoms). May cause serotonin syndrome (agitation, fever, sweating, diarrhea) especially with other serotonergic drugs. Can increase bleeding risk (with NSAIDs/anticoagulants). Use caution in seizure disorder, bipolar disorder (risk of mania), glaucoma (may precipitate angle-closure), liver/kidney impairment, and elderly (hyponatremia/SIADH). May impair driving due to drowsiness/dizziness.
MAO inhibitors/linezolid/methylene blue (contraindicated—serotonin syndrome), other serotonergic drugs (triptans, tramadol, lithium, St John’s wort), anticoagulants/antiplatelets/NSAIDs (bleeding risk), other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), CYP2D6 substrates such as tricyclic antidepressants/antipsychotics and some beta-blockers (may increase their levels), tamoxifen (reduced activation/effect), alcohol (additive CNS effects)
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), in a dry place away from moisture and direct light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
