Composition of Zerodol Tablet

Zerodol Tablet contains Aceclofenac (100mg) + Paracetamol (325mg). It belongs to the NSAID (phenylacetic acid derivative) class of medicines.

How Zerodol Tablet works

Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin production that causes pain, swelling and inflammation.

How to take Zerodol Tablet

Tablet. Take as prescribed by the doctor, preferably after food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Usual adult dosing is 100 mg twice daily, but dose and duration depend on condition and risk factors.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Zerodol P Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. It can cause severe and sometimes fatal liver damage, often with no symptoms at all for the first day. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Zerodol Tablet

Most side effects of Zerodol are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• indigestion

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Schedule H: Use only on prescription. NSAIDs can cause stomach ulcer/bleeding—risk increases with higher dose, longer use, elderly age, alcohol use, or history of ulcer. Use with caution in kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, hypertension, asthma, and in the elderly. May increase risk of cardiovascular events (heart attack/stroke) with prolonged use. Stop and seek care if black stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, swelling, shortness of breath, or allergic rash occurs.

Do not take Zerodol if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy. Not for people with severe liver disease, except under medical supervision.

Interactions with other medicines

Other NSAIDs/aspirin (increased bleeding/ulcer risk), anticoagulants/antiplatelets e.g. warfarin, clopidogrel (bleeding risk), corticosteroids (GI bleeding), SSRIs/SNRIs (bleeding risk), antihypertensives/diuretics e.g. ACE inhibitors/ARBs (reduced effect, kidney risk), lithium (increased levels), methotrexate (toxicity risk), cyclosporine/tacrolimus (kidney risk)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.

Take Zerodol P Tablet with food to reduce the risk of stomach irritation. Do not take Zerodol P Tablet with other medicines containing paracetamol without consulting your doctor. Avoid taking Zerodol P Tablet with other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen or diclofenac) unless advised by your doctor. Zerodol P Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you. Stop taking Zerodol P Tablet and seek medical attention if you develop severe stomach pain or black/tarry stools. Stay well hydrated while using Zerodol P Tablet, as dehydration may increase the risk of kidney-related side effects.
