How Zoryl M3 Forte Tablet works

Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin release from the pancreas and improves insulin sensitivity. Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and decreases intestinal glucose absorption, improving peripheral glucose uptake. Together they lower fasting and post‑meal blood glucose.

How to take Zoryl M3 Forte Tablet

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with food (preferably with the main meal) to reduce stomach upset and risk of low sugar. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew if it is a prolonged/extended-release tablet. Monitor blood glucose regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Zoryl M2 Forte Tablet PR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Zoryl M3 Forte than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Zoryl M3 Forte Tablet

Most side effects of Zoryl M3 Forte are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Hypoglycaemia
• nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• loss of appetite
• metallic taste
• dizziness
• headache
• weight gain

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Risk of hypoglycaemia (more likely with missed meals, excess exercise, alcohol, elderly, renal/hepatic impairment). Metformin may rarely cause lactic acidosis—seek urgent care for rapid breathing, severe weakness, abdominal pain, or unusual sleepiness. Use with caution in kidney or liver disease; periodic renal function monitoring is required. Temporarily stop metformin before/at iodinated contrast procedures and during major surgery as advised by doctor. Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol, insulin and other antidiabetics (increased hypoglycaemia), beta-blockers (may mask hypoglycaemia), ACE inhibitors (may enhance glucose-lowering), corticosteroids and diuretics (may raise glucose), rifampicin (reduces effect of glimepiride), azole antifungals/macrolides (increase hypoglycaemia risk), iodinated contrast media (increases lactic acidosis risk with metformin), cimetidine (increases metformin levels)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Zoryl M3 Forte Tablet

You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Zoryl M2 Forte Tablet PR. Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine. It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Inform your doctor about your diabetes treatment if you are due to have surgery under a general anesthetic. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing or if you have persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain as Zoryl M2 Forte Tablet PR may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood. Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
