Composition of Zucator M 1000 mg Tablet

Zucator M 1000 mg Tablet contains Sitagliptin 50 mg + Metformin (as Metformin Hydrochloride) 1000 mg tablets. It belongs to the DPP-4 inhibitor + Biguanide class of medicines.

Uses of Zucator M 1000 mg Tablet

  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus: to improve blood glucose control as an adjunct to diet and exercise
  • when dual therapy is appropriate

Key benefits

  • Helps control fasting and post-meal blood sugar
  • Improves insulin sensitivity and reduces liver glucose output
  • Lowers glucagon and supports glucose-dependent insulin secretion
  • May aid in achieving HbA1c targets with lifestyle measures

How Zucator M 1000 mg Tablet works

Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity in muscles. Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin hormones (GLP-1, GIP), enhancing glucose-dependent insulin release and reducing glucagon, thereby lowering blood sugar with low risk of hypoglycaemia when used without insulin/secretagogues.

How to take Zucator M 1000 mg Tablet

Oral tablets; take exactly as prescribed, usually with meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew if it is a modified-release form (confirm pack). Maintain diet and exercise; monitor blood glucose as advised.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

If you miss a dose

Taking more Zucator M than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Warnings and precautions

Prescription-only antidiabetic. Risk of lactic acidosis with metformin (seek urgent care for fast breathing, severe weakness, abdominal pain, drowsiness). Avoid/use with caution in kidney impairment; assess eGFR before start and periodically—contraindicated in severe renal impairment. Temporarily stop before iodinated contrast studies or major surgery as advised.
