Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.05% w/v (paediatric nasal drops)
Temporary relief of nasal congestion (blocked nose) due to common cold, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), and sinusitis
Xylometazoline is a topical nasal decongestant (alpha-adrenergic agonist). It constricts dilated blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, reducing swelling and mucus formation, thereby improving airflow through the nose.
For intranasal use only. Instil the prescribed number of drops into each nostril as advised by a doctor, usually 1–2 drops per nostril up to 2–3 times daily. Use for a short duration only (generally not more than 3–5 days). Clean the nose before use and avoid touching the dropper tip.
Common side effects of ZYLO NASAL DROPS KIDS may include:
Do not use continuously for more than 3–5 days due to risk of rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa). Use with caution in children and only as directed. Avoid use in patients with hypersensitivity to xylometazoline, atrophic rhinitis, or after certain nasal surgeries unless advised. Use with caution in hypertension, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, glaucoma, and enlarged prostate. Seek medical help if symptoms persist/worsen or if significant palpitations, dizziness, or allergic reactions occur.
