Drop
Symptomatic relief of cough (dry or productive) associated with common cold/upper respiratory tract irritation.
Depends on the active ingredients in the formulation. Cough medicines typically act by reducing cough reflex (antitussives), thinning mucus (mucolytics), helping expel phlegm (expectorants) and/or relieving allergy-related irritation (antihistamines).
Use as directed by a physician. Measure the dose with the provided dropper; may be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose or use for prolonged periods without medical advice.
Drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, dry mouth, headache
Exact precautions depend on the ingredients. Use with caution in children (dose must be age/weight appropriate), asthma/COPD, liver disease, kidney disease, and in patients taking other cold/cough medicines. May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Consult a doctor if cough persists >3–5 days, is recurrent, or is accompanied by fever, wheezing, breathlessness, or thick/green/bloody sputum.
May interact with alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), MAO inhibitors/antidepressants (for some antitussives/antihistamines), sedatives, antihistamines, and other cough/cold combination products (duplicate therapy).
Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
