Treatment of mixed dyslipidaemia (high LDL cholesterol and high triglycerides), hypertriglyceridaemia, and reduction of cardiovascular risk in patients not adequately controlled with diet/exercise or single therapy (as prescribed).

Atorvastatin inhibits HMG‑CoA reductase to reduce cholesterol synthesis and lowers LDL and total cholesterol. Fenofibrate activates PPAR‑α, increasing lipolysis and clearance of triglyceride‑rich particles, thereby lowering triglycerides and improving HDL.

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food (fenofibrate is often better tolerated with food). Continue diet and lifestyle measures; do not stop without medical advice.

Headache, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, indigestion, muscle pain (myalgia), fatigue, increased liver enzymes

Prescription medicine. Risk of muscle injury (myopathy/rhabdomyolysis) increases with statin+fibrate combination—seek care for unexplained muscle pain/weakness, fever or dark urine. Monitor liver function; avoid in active liver disease. Use with caution in kidney disease and the elderly; dose adjustment/avoidance may be needed. Not recommended in gallbladder disease; fenofibrate can increase risk of gallstones. Use cautiously in hypothyroidism and uncontrolled diabetes (higher myopathy risk).

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase bleeding; monitor INR), cyclosporine/tacrolimus (increases statin levels and myopathy risk), macrolide antibiotics (e.g., clarithromycin), azole antifungals, protease inhibitors, gemfibrozil (avoid), other lipid-lowering agents (niacin), colchicine, grapefruit juice (can increase atorvastatin levels).

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
