Auxime-200 LB Tablet

Auxime-200 Lb Tablet contains Cefixime 200 mg + Lactic Acid Bacillus (probiotic) (strength not specified). Prescription required.

Bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis/tonsillitis, bronchitis), ear infections (otitis media), urinary tract infections, and typhoid fever caused by susceptible organisms; probiotic component helps restore gut flora and reduce antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Lactic Acid Bacillus helps replenish beneficial intestinal flora and may reduce diarrhea and abdominal discomfort associated with antibiotics.

Take orally as prescribed by a doctor, usually once daily or in divided doses. Can be taken with or without food (take with food if stomach upset occurs). Swallow tablet with water and complete the full course; do not skip doses.

Use only for bacterial infections; not effective for viral illness. Complete the prescribed course to prevent resistance. Use with caution in patients with history of allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins (risk of hypersensitivity), kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed), and history of colitis. Seek medical help for severe allergy (swelling, breathing difficulty) or severe/persistent diarrhea (possible C. difficile). Probiotic use should be cautious in severely immunocompromised patients or those with central venous catheters.

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase bleeding risk/INR), probenecid (may increase cefixime levels), live oral typhoid vaccine (reduced effect), cholera vaccine (reduced effect); consider additive nephrotoxicity risk with other nephrotoxic drugs (monitor in renal impairment).

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
