Drop
Relief of productive (wet) cough with chest congestion; helps loosen and expel mucus in cough associated with common cold/bronchitis.
This is typically a combination cough medicine. A mucolytic/expectorant thins and loosens thick mucus, making it easier to cough out, while a bronchodilator can relax airway muscles to ease breathing and wheeze.
Oral drops. Use only as prescribed by a doctor, especially in infants/children. Measure with the provided dropper; can be given with or without food; give after food if stomach upset occurs. Maintain adequate fluids.
Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, tremor, palpitations, restlessness
Do not use for dry cough unless advised. Use with caution in children (risk of dosing errors); avoid combining with other cough/cold products containing similar ingredients. Caution in asthma, heart disease, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, glaucoma, seizure disorders, liver/kidney impairment. Stop and seek medical help if breathing difficulty, rash, severe dizziness, or symptoms persist/worsen for >3 days or fever develops.
Other cough/cold medicines (duplicate ingredients), sedatives/alcohol (increased drowsiness), MAO inhibitors/antidepressants (if an adrenergic bronchodilator is present), beta-blockers (may reduce bronchodilator effect), diuretics/corticosteroids (may increase risk of low potassium with some bronchodilators)
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
