Suspension
Prevention and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency; nutritional supplementation in osteoporosis/osteopenia, pregnancy and lactation (as advised), growing children, elderly; support in fracture healing and bone health.
Calcium carbonate provides elemental calcium required for bone mineralization, muscle function and nerve transmission. Vitamin D3 increases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate and helps maintain normal bone formation.
Oral suspension. Shake well before use. Measure dose with a measuring cup/spoon. Usually taken after food or with meals to improve absorption and reduce gastric upset; dose and duration as directed by a doctor (commonly 5–10 mL once or twice daily depending on requirement).
Constipation, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, bloating, gas, belching, abdominal pain
Do not use in hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, severe renal impairment, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones) or known hypersensitivity. Use with caution in kidney disease and in patients prone to kidney stones; monitor calcium levels if used long-term or with high doses. Excess intake may cause hypercalcemia (symptoms: weakness, confusion, excessive thirst/urination, nausea). Keep a gap of 2–4 hours from medicines that bind with calcium.
Tetracyclines, quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin/levofloxacin), bisphosphonates (e.g., alendronate), levothyroxine, iron supplements, magnesium supplements/antacids, thiazide diuretics, digoxin, phenytoin/phenobarbital, corticosteroids
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
