Suspension

Fever reduction and relief of mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, body ache, sore throat, and post-immunization fever in children.

Paracetamol works mainly by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system, which reduces pain perception. It also acts on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center to lower fever.

Oral suspension. Shake well before use. Measure dose with a calibrated spoon/cup/syringe as advised by the doctor based on child’s weight/age. Can be given with or without food; give with food/milk if stomach upset occurs. Do not exceed recommended dose or use multiple paracetamol-containing products together.

Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, rash, itching, increased liver enzymes (rare)

Do not exceed total daily paracetamol dose; overdose can cause severe liver damage. Use with caution in liver disease, chronic alcoholism, severe malnutrition/dehydration, or kidney impairment. Stop and seek medical help if allergic reaction (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty) occurs. If fever persists >3 days or pain >5 days, consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children.

Alcohol, warfarin/coumarin anticoagulants (with prolonged use), rifampicin, isoniazid, phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital/primidone, probenecid, cholestyramine

Store below 25°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed. Do not freeze. Use within the period mentioned on the label after opening.
