Heroamox-Cv 625MG

Amoxicillin 500 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg (as potassium clavulanate)

Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as acute bacterial sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, community-acquired pneumonia/bronchitis exacerbations, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections.

Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from enzymatic breakdown by resistant bacteria, widening the antibacterial spectrum.

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually with food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water at the same time each day and complete the full course even if symptoms improve; do not skip doses.

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, indigestion, rash, urticaria, headache, dizziness, oral/vaginal thrush

Prescription-only antibiotic. Do not use in patients with allergy to penicillins/cephalosporins or previous severe hypersensitivity reactions. Use with caution in liver disease; may rarely cause hepatitis/cholestatic jaundice—seek care if jaundice, dark urine or severe fatigue occurs. Adjust dose in renal impairment as advised by doctor. Stop and seek urgent help if severe rash, breathing difficulty or facial swelling occurs. Antibiotic-associated diarrhoea/C. difficile can occur; report severe/persistent diarrhoea. Not for viral infections.

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk/INR), Methotrexate (increased toxicity), Probenecid (increases amoxicillin levels), Allopurinol (increased rash risk), Mycophenolate mofetil (reduced active metabolite exposure), Oral contraceptives (reduced efficacy possible—use backup if advised)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
