How it works

Linid XT Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Cefuroxime and Linezolid. Cefuroxime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Linezolid stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Together, they eradicate your infection effectively.

Finish the whole course even after you feel better — stopping early breeds resistant bacteria. Tell your doctor if you have ever had a severe reaction to penicillin; a small proportion of people react to both groups. Report severe or watery loose motions during or after the course rather than treating them yourself. Several medicines in this group are on Schedule H1 precisely because overuse drives antibiotic resistance. Take it only when a doctor has prescribed it for you. Do not drink any alcohol while taking metronidazole, ornidazole or tinidazole, or for the period after the course that your doctor states — the combination causes severe flushing, vomiting and a racing heart. If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
