Lupigest SR 300 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Progesterone (Natural Micronized)(300mg). It is used for hormonal disorders, fertility treatment, hormone replacement and contraception. It belongs to the group of medicines called Hormone preparation.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Lupigest SR 300 mg Tablet are nausea, headache, breast tenderness and mood change. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Lupigest SR 300 mg Tablet works.
Most side effects of Lupigest SR are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it at the same time each day. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Progesterone supplies or adjusts a hormone so that the body's own balance is restored.
Take a hormonal medicine at the same time every day; the effect depends on a steady level. Seek urgent care for sudden chest pain, breathlessness, severe headache, weakness on one side, or pain and swelling in a calf — hormone preparations can raise the risk of clots. Tell your doctor if you smoke, have migraine with aura, high blood pressure, or a family history of clots or breast cancer, before starting. Report any unusual or heavy vaginal bleeding to your doctor.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine may cause nausea, vomiting and withdrawal bleeding. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
