Medistrip Capsicum Plaster 10Cmx16Cm contains Capsicum extract (capsaicin) medicated adhesive plaster (strength not specified).

Temporary relief of minor aches and pains of muscles and joints such as backache, sprain/strain, rheumatic or arthritic pain, stiffness and soreness; counterirritant pain relief.

Capsicum (capsaicin) acts as a topical counterirritant that produces a warming sensation and increases local blood flow. It also reduces pain signal transmission over time by depleting substance P from peripheral sensory nerves, helping reduce pain perception at the site.

For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, cut plaster to required size if needed, remove backing and apply to intact skin. Use as directed on the pack; typically applied for several hours and then removed. Wash hands after use and avoid contact with eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas.

Warmth/burning sensation, redness, itching, skin irritation, rash, blistering (rare)

Do not use on broken/irritated skin, wounds or eczema. Stop use and consult a doctor if severe burning, blistering, swelling, or rash occurs, or if pain persists/worsens. Avoid heating pads or tight bandaging over the plaster as it may increase burns. Keep away from eyes/mucous membranes; wash hands after application. Use with caution in children, sensitive skin, and in patients allergic to chilli/capsaicin.

No significant systemic drug interactions expected due to topical local action; avoid concurrent use with other topical irritants/heat rubs on the same area to reduce risk of irritation/burns.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the pouch/pack tightly closed to prevent drying. Keep out of reach of children.
