Bacterial infections suspected to be sensitive to the antibiotic (commonly ear, throat, sinus, chest/respiratory, urinary tract and skin/soft tissue infections) as prescribed by a doctor.
This dry syrup likely contains a cephalosporin antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. It works only against bacterial infections, not viral illnesses like common cold or flu.
Reconstitute the dry syrup with boiled and cooled water up to the marked line, shake well, and use the measuring cup/spoon provided. Give the dose exactly as prescribed; can be taken with or without food (preferably after food if stomach upset occurs). Shake well before each dose and complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, headache, rash
Prescription-only antibiotic—use only on medical advice. Do not use in patients with known allergy to cephalosporins; use caution with history of penicillin allergy. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed). Stop and seek care if severe diarrhoea, blood in stools, severe rash, facial swelling, breathing difficulty, or signs of allergy occur. Prolonged use may cause fungal overgrowth or antibiotic-associated colitis.
Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin) may increase bleeding risk/INR, probenecid may increase antibiotic levels, live oral typhoid vaccine may be less effective, other nephrotoxic drugs (e.g., aminoglycosides, high-dose diuretics) may increase kidney risk (depending on the antibiotic).
Store the dry powder at room temperature, protected from moisture and light. After reconstitution, store as directed on label (commonly refrigerated or at room temperature) and use within the stated days; do not freeze. Keep bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
