Monograph
Rosugard Gold 10 Capsule is a prescription medicine containing Aspirin (75mg) + Rosuvastatin (10mg) + Clopidogrel (75mg). It is used for heart attack, prevention of stroke, blood clots, high cholesterol, prevention of heart attack and stroke. It belongs to the group of medicines called Blood thinner and Statin / lipid modifier.
Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Rosugard Gold 10 Capsule are bruising easily, bleeding for longer from cuts, nosebleeds and indigestion. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Rosugard Gold 10 Capsule works.
Most side effects of Rosugard Gold are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it with food, at the same time each day. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
This medicine combines 3 active ingredients: Aspirin, Rosuvastatin and Clopidogrel. Aspirin makes your blood less likely to form a clot, which protects the narrowed arteries of the heart and brain. Rosuvastatin lowers the amount of bad cholesterol your liver makes and helps clear it from the blood, which slows the furring of your arteries. Clopidogrel makes your blood less likely to form a clot, which protects the narrowed arteries of the heart and brain.
Seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, blood in the vomit or urine, a severe headache, or bleeding that will not stop. Tell every doctor and dentist treating you that you are on a blood thinner, well before any procedure. Never stop this medicine on your own before surgery or dental work — stopping it carries its own risk, and the decision is your doctor's. Avoid contact sports and take care with razors and sharp tools. Aspirin must not be given to children or teenagers with a fever or a viral illness — it is linked to Reye's syndrome, a rare but serious condition affecting the brain and liver. Low-dose aspirin for the heart is a lifelong treatment. Do not stop it before surgery or dental work without asking the doctor who prescribed it. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness — especially with fever or dark urine — without waiting for your next appointment. Your doctor will check your liver with a blood test before starting and from time to time afterwards. Cholesterol medicines work silently; you will not feel their benefit, and that is not a reason to stop. Tell your doctor if you develop new or worsening diabetes symptoms.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause serious and difficult-to-control bleeding. It is unlikely to cause immediate harm but may increase the risk of muscle and liver injury. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
