Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.<br/>There may be a possibility of skin rash in the baby.
Taking trimethoprim with alcohol may cause unpleasant side effects such as tingly feeling, nausea, and vomiting, fast heartbeats, warmth or redness under your skin, .
Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br/>Use of Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used to treat bacterial infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, infections of urinary tract, ear and intestines.
Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. These antibiotics work by preventing the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food, if it causes stomach upset.
