Septran Adult Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Trimethoprim (160mg) + Sulphamethoxazole (800mg). Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used to treat bacterial infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, infections of urinary tract, ear and intestines.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Septran Adult Tablet are nausea Vomiting Skin rash Allergic reaction. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Septran Adult Tablet works.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food, if it causes stomach upset.
Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. These antibiotics work by preventing the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
