Udimarin Forte Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Silymarin (140mg) + Ursodeoxycholic Acid (300mg). It is used for liver disease. It belongs to the group of medicines called Liver support agent.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Udimarin Forte Tablet are loose motions, nausea and stomach discomfort. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Udimarin Forte Tablet works.
Liver disease
Most side effects of Udimarin Forte are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Udimarin Forte Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Udimarin Forte Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Silymarin and Ursodeoxycholic Acid. They work by protecting the liver from harmful chemical substances (free radicals), thus preventing liver damage.
A liver supplement does not treat the cause of liver disease. Alcohol, weight, viral hepatitis and medicines are what have to be addressed. Stop alcohol completely if you have any liver condition. Report yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine, swelling of the abdomen or confusion without delay. Keep your liver function tests and follow-up appointments.
If you miss a dose of Udimarin Forte Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
An overdose of this medicine may cause loose motions and stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
