Bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (acute bronchitis, pneumonia), ENT infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, otitis media), urinary tract infections, and skin & soft tissue infections caused by susceptible organisms

Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to cell lysis and death of susceptible bacteria.

Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, preferably with food to improve absorption. Swallow whole with water; do not skip doses and complete the full course even if you feel better.

Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, skin rash, itching

Use only for bacterial infections; not effective for viral illnesses. Inform doctor if you have a history of allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins, severe kidney disease, colitis or severe diarrhoea. May cause antibiotic-associated diarrhoea (including C. difficile); seek medical help if severe/persistent. Dose adjustment may be needed in renal impairment.

Antacids containing aluminium/magnesium, H2 blockers (e.g., ranitidine/famotidine) may reduce absorption; probenecid may increase cefpodoxime levels; warfarin/other anticoagulants may increase bleeding risk; live bacterial vaccines (e.g., oral typhoid) may be less effective

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
