Treatment and prevention of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (morning sickness), including nausea due to pregnancy-related hyperemesis (as advised by doctor)
Doxylamine is an H1 antihistamine that helps reduce nausea by blocking histamine effects in the vomiting center. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) supports neurotransmitter synthesis and helps control pregnancy-related nausea. Together they provide better symptom relief than either alone.
Take by mouth as prescribed. Commonly taken at bedtime (may cause drowsiness); some patients may be advised additional doses in the morning/afternoon. Swallow with water; can be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the prescribed number of tablets per day.
Sleepiness/drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, headache, fatigue
May cause marked drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery. Use with caution in glaucoma, urinary retention/prostatic enlargement, asthma/COPD, liver disease. Avoid combining with other sedating medicines. If vomiting is severe, persistent, with dehydration, blood, abdominal pain, or weight loss, seek medical care. Use only on doctor’s advice in pregnancy; not intended for children unless prescribed.
Alcohol, other CNS depressants (benzodiazepines, opioids, sleep medicines), other antihistamines, anticholinergics (e.g., tricyclic antidepressants), MAO inhibitors (may increase anticholinergic effects)
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
