Azilsartan medoxomil (40mg)
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Azilsartan medoxomil and Chlorthalidone which lower blood pressure effectively. Azilsartan medoxomil is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin, thereby relaxing blood vessels. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Abel 40MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
