How Accu Sure Sim Strips works

The strip contains enzymes/chemicals that react with glucose in a small blood sample. The compatible glucometer measures the resulting electrical/optical signal and displays a blood glucose reading.

How to take Accu Sure Sim Strips

For external use with a compatible AccuSure glucometer only. Wash and dry hands, insert strip into meter, prick fingertip with a lancing device, apply a small drop of blood to the strip as per meter instructions, and note the reading. Use a new strip each time; do not reuse. Check expiry date and use immediately after removing from container.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Accu Sure Sim Strips as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Accu Sure Sim Strips than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Accu Sure Sim Strips

Most side effects of Accu Sure Sim Strips are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• minor bleeding
• local infection (rare)

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

For in‑vitro diagnostic use only; not for oral use. Use only with the compatible meter model—incorrect pairing can give wrong results. Do not use expired, damaged, or wet strips. Keep strips away from moisture/heat; close cap immediately after removing a strip. Certain conditions/substances (e.g., poor circulation, dehydration, very high/low hematocrit, interfering sugars/medicines depending on strip chemistry) may affect accuracy—refer to device/strip IFU. Seek medical advice for symptoms of hypo/hyperglycaemia despite readings.

Interactions with other medicines

Not a medicine. Results may be affected by interfering substances depending on strip chemistry (refer to product insert), e.g., high uric acid, acetaminophen/paracetamol, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), maltose/galactose/xylose in some strip systems, abnormal hematocrit, dehydration.

How to store Accu Sure Sim Strips

Store in original vial/foil at room temperature (typically 5–30°C), away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Do not refrigerate/freeze unless stated in the insert. Keep container tightly closed; use strips promptly after opening.
