How Accuchek Active Machine works

The meter measures glucose in a small drop of capillary blood applied to a test strip. The strip’s chemistry generates an electrical/optical signal proportional to glucose concentration, which the device converts into a displayed blood glucose value.

How to take Accuchek Active Machine

Insert a compatible Accu-Chek Active test strip into the meter. Use a lancing device to obtain a finger-prick blood drop and apply it to the strip as per the user manual; wait for the reading. Record results and follow your clinician’s testing schedule. Use clean, dry hands; do not share lancets; dispose of sharps safely.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Accuchek Active Machine as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Accuchek Active Machine than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Accuchek Active Machine

Most side effects of Accuchek Active Machine are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• skin irritation
• infection at puncture site (rare)

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

For in-vitro diagnostic self-testing only; not for diagnosis without medical advice. Incorrect technique, expired/damaged strips, dirty hands, extreme temperatures, altitude/humidity, and improper storage of strips can cause inaccurate readings. Keep meter and accessories away from children (choking hazard). Use a new sterile lancet each time; do not share lancing devices to reduce infection risk. Follow the device IFU for quality checks and calibration requirements (if any).

Interactions with other medicines

Certain substances/conditions may affect SMBG accuracy depending on strip chemistry and user technique (e.g., contaminated sample, severe dehydration, very high/low hematocrit, high triglycerides, some interfering sugars/chemicals as per strip labeling). How to store Accuchek Active Machine

Store the meter clean and dry at room temperature; avoid direct sunlight, dust, moisture, and extreme heat/cold. Store test strips in original vial with cap tightly closed; protect from humidity and heat; do not use expired strips.
