How Alerminic Syrup works

Most anti-allergy syrups contain an antihistamine that blocks the action of histamine, the chemical responsible for allergy symptoms. This reduces sneezing, itching, watering of eyes and runny nose.

How to take Alerminic Syrup

Shake well before use. Measure the dose with a calibrated spoon/cup. Take as directed by a doctor; may be taken with or without food. If it causes sleepiness, take preferably in the evening and avoid driving/operating machinery.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Alerminic as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Alerminic than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Alerminic Syrup

Most side effects of Alerminic are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• dizziness
• dry mouth
• headache
• nausea
• constipation
• blurred vision

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery. Use with caution in children, elderly, liver disease, glaucoma, asthma/COPD, urinary retention/prostate enlargement. Do not exceed recommended dose. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist or if rash, breathing difficulty or swelling occurs.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol, other sedatives/CNS depressants (benzodiazepines, opioids), other antihistamines/cough-cold products, certain antidepressants (e.g., MAO inhibitors), anticholinergic medicines

How to store Alerminic Syrup

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
