How Ambrolite Syrup works

Ambroxol is a mucolytic/expectorant that breaks down and thins thick mucus in the airways. It improves mucociliary clearance, making it easier to cough out phlegm and breathe better.

How to take Ambrolite Syrup

Take by mouth using a measuring cup/spoon. Usually taken after food; drink plenty of fluids. Dose depends on age and is as directed by the doctor; shake well before use.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Ambrolite Syrup, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe drowsiness, a racing heart and, with codeine, dangerously slow breathing. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
