Amorolfine 5% w/v nail lacquer (typically 50 mg/mL)
Treatment of fungal infections of the nails (onychomycosis) caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and moulds; mild to moderate nail fungus limited to the nail plate (without matrix involvement).
Amorolfine is an antifungal that inhibits ergosterol synthesis by blocking sterol enzymes (delta-14 reductase and delta-7–8 isomerase). This disrupts the fungal cell membrane, stopping growth and killing susceptible fungi in the nail.
For external use on nails only. File the affected nail surface, clean/degrease, then apply a thin layer of lacquer over the entire affected nail using the applicator. Allow to dry. Usually applied once or twice weekly as advised by the doctor; continue until healthy nail regrows (may take 6–12 months). Avoid washing the area for several hours after application and remove old lacquer before reapplying if instructed.
Common side effects of AMROLSTAR NAIL LACQUER may include:
For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, mouth and mucous membranes. Do not apply to surrounding skin extensively or on open wounds. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation or signs of allergy occur. Use caution in diabetes, poor circulation, immunosuppression, or extensive nail disease—may need medical supervision. Avoid cosmetic nail varnish/artificial nails unless doctor advises. Keep away from heat/flames (may contain flammable solvents).
