How Asthamon 4 mg Tablet works

Asthamon 4mg Tablet is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking a chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.

How to take Asthamon 4 mg Tablet

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it with or without food, often in the evening. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

Warnings and precautions

Older antihistamines cause marked drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this affects you. This relieves the symptoms of an allergy; it does not treat the cause, and it is not a treatment for an acute asthma attack. Do not take Asthamon if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. The sedating antihistamines are not suitable for very young children, or for people with glaucoma or an enlarged prostate, without medical advice.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol, sleeping tablets and other sedating medicines add to the drowsiness. Tell your doctor about all cold and cough preparations — many already contain an antihistamine.

Never increase or decrease the dose of Asthamon 4mg Tablet on your own, as it can harm your child. Never combine Asthamon 4mg Tablet with other cold and flu medicines, as that may cause some side effects. If you are giving Asthamon 4mg Tablet to your child for asthma or allergy, you need not give another dose to prevent exercise-induced breathing problems. In case of any confusion, consult your child’s doctor as soon as possible. Practice self-care tips like abstaining your child from coming in contact with allergens.
